Patty Conway, Community Relations Coordinator; Henrico County Public Library, VA

  • Ms. Conway has coordinated large-scale events for HCPL, including its annual All Henrico Reads author event, since February 2017. She manages HCPL social media, community engagement, and public relations, and serves as co-chair of the HCPL Equitability Task Force; previously, she worked in Teen Services at HCPL and Richmond Public Library. She fell in love with library work as a clerk for the Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media at Bobst Library while completing her B.A. in Anthropology at New York University. She received an MLS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2015. She loves playing drums, cooking, and pit bulls.

Cari Dubiel, Adult Learning and Information Services Manager; Twinsburg Public Library, OH

  • Cari oversees a team of fourteen, which carries out all adult author and readers advisory events for Twinsburg Public Library. A frequent reviewer for Booklist and an EarlyWord GalleyChatter, she also serves as an adjunct instructor for Kent State University's iSchool and facilitates training for librarians through People Connect Institute. As an author represented by Lynnette Novak of the Seymour Agency, Cari is the head of editing for Writing Bloc, a co-op of hybrid and indie writers.

Guy LeCharles Gonzalez, Project Lead, Panorama Project

  • Guy is an entrepreneurial media and marketing professional with B2B and consumer experience in audience development, content strategy, event programming, and email, search and social marketing. Previously, he was publisher & marketing director for Writer’s Digest; director, content strategy & audience development for Library Journal & School Library Journal; and founding director of programming & business development for Digital Book World.

Bill Kelly, Adult Programming Manager: Cuyahoga County Public Library, OH

  • Bill has served as Chair of the American Library Association’s Notable Books Council; Chair for the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction and Nonfiction; and a judge for The Story Prize. He has served as a member of the American Library Association’s Readers’ Advisory Research and Trends Committee and co-founded, along with Nancy Pearl, CCPL’s Reconnect with Reading initiative, created to design readers’ advisory services and provide training for staff. Co-founder of Cleveland Book Week, Bill has presented programs nationally on Readers’ Advisory and is the 2013 recipient of the Allie Beth Martin Award, given to a librarian who has demonstrated extraordinary range and depth of knowledge about books and distinguished ability to share that knowledge.

Lucy Lockley, Lead Collection Development Librarian; St. Charles City-County Library, MO 

  • Besides the thrill of ​selecting materials, Lucy is passionate about helping people find great books to read and enjoys providing staff training in readers’ advisory​.​ She reviews Adult Fiction for Booklist, has served on various ALA-RUSA award committees, and acted as an APA Audie Awards judge. She served on the Booklist Advisory Board, as CODES Member at Large and has presented at multiple conferences. Lucy contributed to The Readers’ Advisory Handbook (2010) and Crossover Readers’ Advisory (2017) and is the 2020 recipient of the Margaret E. Monroe Library Adult Services Award, given to honor a librarian who has made significant contributions to library adult services.

Magan Szwarek, Reference Services Director; Schaumburg Township District Library, IL

  • Magan is a former chair of ALA's Readers' Advisory Research & Trends Committee, has served on the Adult Reading Round Table Steering Committee, and the Booklist Advisory Board. She reviews fiction and audio for Booklist and is a judge for the Audio Publishers Association Audie Awards. A lover of audiobooks and a dedicated readers' advisor, Magan is enthusiastic about re-imagining what public libraries can offer the communities they serve.
